Don't Throw Your Money Away at the LA County Fair!
Take it from an ex-exhibitor: the LA County Fair is full of bad deals if you're after a hot tub. The prices are higher, you'll have a hard time trying to get into a running spa, and you'll get a high-stress sales pitch from travelling salesmen who will try to charge you an even higher price to pocket the difference. We've written extensively on why you won't find us at the fair, but here's a quick run down:
- Fair Prices are Higher
- Hot tub dealers pay roughly $100,000 just to exhibit at the fair. The prices have to be set higher if they hope to even break even.
- You Can't Fully Evaluate Spas at the Fair
- You can't wet test spas at the fair, meaning you have no way to fully evaluate the experience and cannot choose the right spa for you.
- The Good Brands Won't Be There
- The fair is usually populated by second- and third-tier brands who are infamous for their low quality.
- The Salespeople Lie
- Booths will be manned by travelling salesmen who will be long gone before you can call them out on their lies.
- The more the salesmen charge you, the more they make. They get an even larger cut for any money they make over their already inflated sales price.
- You Won't Get Great Support
- Fair exhibitors are often from out of the state, where it is common for them to freight their spas to your curb — leaving you to push it into your backyard by yourself!
- When your spa breaks down, the company you bought from may not even have their own service departments, meaning nobody will be able to answer your chemical questions and you will get the run-around if you ever need warranty work done.
